The Library Magazine Fundraiser was a huge success again this year. The money will be used to purchase new books for the library. Thanks to all who purchased subscriptions. FYI The Mark Twain Hall of Fame will be offered again this year for students who would like to read all 12 of the Mark Twain nominees this year. These books are nominated for 4th and 5th grade readers. Students who read all 12 books and have either a 60% or higher on AR tests for each book or show a parent slip telling that they have read them will receive the following: Picture posted in the Hall of Fame in the Shook Library, a t-shirt, free books, pizza party, and other fun prizes. Students will have until the second week of May to finish the 12 books. |
Library Lessons: Both grades will be working on research skills for this semester. They will be using online and book sources to find information about science and social studies topics. We will focus on non-fiction reading and gathering information. The students will also be writing non-fiction research reports to tell their information. We will also be giving oral non-fiction reports as well. |
