Watson’s Weekly December 9, 2011 Look What We Are Studying Reading We will continue the Daily 5. We will continue working on summarizing. We will also be working with the book Family Under the Bridge and will review reading strategies with it. Math Be looking for a note from your child’s math teacher about upcoming tests and the unit they will be studying. We will continue our Rocket Math program to help review their multiplication facts. Please practice multiplication facts with your child daily. We will also start Reindeer Math. Science We will be working on the scientific method in our class. Writing Block We will complete a persuasive piece that we will take all the way through the writing process. We will conclude a book project we have been working on. Working with Words (Spelling) We will have a holiday spelling unit. The words can be found on the back of this letter. Thank you for all you do. *Please call if your child will be absent. *Please read with your child daily to help him/her reach their AR goal. *Your child should be at 80% of his or her AR goal. *Please send in Box Tops, they will help fund our spring field trip. *Please remember to send in the supplies for gingerbread houses that your child signed up to bring or let me know if you are unable to do so.
